Fragments of Conversation

Fragments of Conversation” brings together works by Sixte Kakinda, Mónica Iturribarría, Keabetswe Boccomino, Till Langschied, Livia Kern, and Remo Schluep—artists who all participated in the “Atelier Mondial” exchange program. The exhibition explores how communication remains possible even under difficult cultural, political, or personal circumstances—and the resulting fragments of encounter, memory, and understanding.

This exhibition is a collaboration project between Odur Ronald, a resident of Atelier Mondial and two young Master students from HGK Cruz Franco Nazar and Rim Harrabi.

The artistic practice of the two Basel-based students is intended to enter into a direct dialogue with Ronals, an international artist working on the notions of borders, mobility and migration. The goal of the exhibition is to conduct intercultural experiment that explores the use of archive as a mean of understanding better the media structures used in the context of international politics, war, and the forming of ideologies.

The exhibition will open on Monday 27th of July with a vernissage, and for two weeks visitors will be able to experience the installations on display and explore the theme of propaganda together with the visions of these artists.

Vernissage: 27.07 19.00h
